Living in South Florida means enjoying beautiful weather year-round, but it also means preparing for the annual hurricane season, which runs from June 1 through November 30. Peak activity usually occurs from mid-August through late October. At CADISA, we believe that proactive planning and clear communication are essential to protecting both people and property during this time.

As part of our management approach, we work closely with Boards, residents, and staff to ensure each community is prepared for potential storms. This includes:
- Property Inspections & Maintenance – Checking roofs, windows, drainage, and critical systems to confirm readiness.
- Vendor Coordination – Ensuring landscaping, debris removal, and emergency contractors are in place ahead of time.
- Communication Protocols – Sending timely updates to residents in both English and Spanish, providing checklists, and sharing official guidance from emergency management agencies.
- Emergency Staffing Plans – Preparing onsite staff and contractors for pre- and post-storm response.
- Insurance & Documentation – Maintaining records, photos, and contracts to support recovery and claims if needed.
Resident Preparedness
While CADISA coordinates community-wide efforts, individual preparedness is just as important. We encourage residents to:

- Review and maintain hurricane shutters or impact windows.
- Secure personal property, balconies, and vehicles.
- Keep an updated emergency supply kit with essentials for at least 72 hours.
- Follow official alerts from NOAA, local authorities, and Cadisa communications
- Familiarize yourself with evacuation zones and shelters.
After the Storm
In the aftermath of a storm, our priority is to assess property conditions, communicate with the Board and residents, and coordinate with contractors and insurers to restore normalcy as quickly and safely as possible.
